Colin Ferguson

Colin David Ferguson, founder of Rare Investment, is a leading expert in the diamond industry and a pioneer in developing the market for rare fancy colored diamonds. He discovered his passion for diamonds and other rare gems at an early age. Mr. Ferguson began his career as a sales consultant for one of Canada's largest diamond dealers. After he was promoted to a management position, he earned the notice of one of Belgium's most famous diamond companies and became their national distribution manager for North America. After mentorship with a DeBeers sight holder, Mr. Ferguson's skill at valuing stones with great investment potential eventually encouraged him to start his own business in 1989. He started by selling diamonds directly to retailers, jewelry manufacturers, and wholesalers across Canada, and eventually, grew his company into one of the largest rare jewel investment firms in Canada. Mr. Ferguson's success as a diamond and rare gem broker allows him to support many charities, and he has received numerous awards for his philanthropy, including the Duke of Kent Award and the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem medal.
