Michael Smedley

Michael Smedley, who joined the firm in 1987, heads the investment team at Morgan Meighen. He is a director of the three closed-end funds managed by the firm. Mr. Smedley has been in the investment industry for over 30 years, working with Canadian and US investment firms in Canada, Hong Kong, and London. He has extensive background in many areas of the business including institutional and private client services. Prior to joining the financial sector, Mr. Smedley was in journalism and public relations for many years, and has worked altogether in eight countries. In addition, he has created a Smedley Special Opportunities Fund for accredited investors who want to run with his stock picks.
