Productivity-fueled economic growth can accelerate without producing inflationary pressures. The equation is simple. Meanwhile, we maintain overweights (vs. the S&P 500) in Consumer Discretionary, Financials (not banks), Industrials, and Technology, writes Nancy Tengler, CIO at W Laffer Tengler Investments.
I thought earnings season was pretty darn good. The only disappointment as of Nov. 10 was materials. Earnings are outpacing the macro economy as companies expand margins faster than revenue growth. As for manufacturing, here are some thoughts, says Nancy Tengler, CIO at Laffer Tengler Investments.
The great Peter Lynch once said, “The real key to making money in stocks is not to get scared out of them.” Hedge fund traders can be frightening as they move rapidly and often in tandem but most importantly, they are fickle. Will cooling inflation allow the Federal Reserve to not only stop raising interest rates, but potentially cut them? Will growth slow, but not grind to a halt, encouraging stock investors to take on more risk? Will the credit markets continue to tighten, without seizing up? Get the answers YOU need to those questions and more in this hard-hitting panel featuring top economists and investment strategists. Then put the guidance you receive to work in your portfolio in 2024.

Will inflation moderate? Will Congress continue to spend? Will workers return to the labor force? Markets always climb a wall of worry and the surest way to steady your portfolio for long-term total return is to establish a reliable buy/sell discipline and then stick with it.
