About Douglas
Douglas Simmons is a research analyst and portfolio manager for Fidelity Investments, managing Fidelity's Utility Fund, Select Utilities Growth Fund, Advisor Utilities Fund, and VIP Utilities Portfolio. Mr. Simmons joined Fidelity in 2004 covering environmental and electric and gas utility stocks. He managed Fidelity Select Environmental Portfolio from February 2004 until March 2007, and assumed responsibility for Fidelity Utilities Fund in September 2005. In the summer of 2002, Mr. Simmons served as an equity analyst for Carlson Capital, and from 1999 to 2002, he was a financial analyst specializing in leveraged buyouts for Hicks, Muse, Tate & First, a private equity firm in Dallas, Texas. From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Simmons was an investment banking analyst in the energy sector for Morgan Stanley & Co., in Houston, Texas. He received a Bachelor's of business administration with highest honors from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
